Confusing feelings...

Minoushje sat in a corner of the kitchen... the place she felt most comfortable.
What just happened? She thought as she let the tears just flow freely.

She told L that she needed to start preparing dinner but that had only been an excuse to get out of the room... this feeling... this oh so familiar feeling terrified her. And she needed to get away from him to be able to get her thoughts straightened out.

((I felt like replacing it from bedroom to kitchen cause I spend more time here... XP))

Zen was walking into the kitchen to dispose of her pasta bowl when she Mino sitting curled up in the corner.

"Mino? What's wrong?"

Minoushje looked up surprised when she recognized Zen's voice.
She quickly dried her eyes and got back on her feet.
"I-it's nothing really..." She mumbled, avoiding eye contact.

Zen blinked at her friend.

"It doesn't seem like nothing, Mino..."

She wasn't going to be put off that easily.

Zen sat down at the table and motioned for Mino to join her.

"Do you want to talk about it?"

Minoushje sat down and let out a deep breath.
"It's just that... I'm afraid of letting people in...because I'm afraid of forgetting those I already let in..."
She had no idea if this even made sense to the girl across from her.

Zen drew a pattern on the table with her finger as she thought.

"It's L, isn't it? You don't want to get too friendly with him because you're afraid you'll lose the memories of your fiancee?"

"No, I'm just good at reading people.....plus, L isn't the most subtle of men when it comes to romance....he seems to have taken a liking to you. And you wouldn't be here if you didn't like him."

Minoushje stood up and walked to the kitchen window, watching the grey sky and the slow drizzle that was falling.

"What if that's the only reason I'm feeling like this? Because of my memories, because my mind is messing with how I feel? It would break my heart if I end up hurting his feelings..."

Zen chose her words carefully.

"There is no way to tell if the feelings are real or if it's what you said- it's simply too soon. I think the best course of action would be to let a little more time pass and see where things go....if it gets serious, you can always pull back before too much damage is done."

Zen's heart hurt. She wished she had someone she felt that way about.

"I guess you're right... thank you Zen." Minoushje smiled and turn towards Zen. "Maybe I'm blowing this all out of proportions... I mean, I don't even know how L exactly feels besides very confused which isn't hard to miss."

"It's kind of cute to see the world's greatest detective so flustered."

She smiled at Mino.

"It would be great if something happened between you two....his life has to have been really lonely."

Minoushje turned bright red at the mentioning of something happening between her and L.
"Just do me a favor... don't tell the other girls about this... I mean, since everything is still so confusing."

She grinned again.

"I have to go take care of some paperwork...since Near is setting up shop in here, we need to get some new security measures."

She took her apron and turned back to Zen once more.
"Did you leave any spaghetti or should I go to the story first before I start preparing dinner?"

Minoushje shook her head and placed the apron down.
"You know, too much pasta is bad for your health."

Zen's forehead was resting on the table, so her voice was muffled.

"I have too much life to live! I can't die!"

She made a mental resolution to buy a treadmill.

((I was too lazy to make a new topic... and besides, this title also seemed to fit with Aika's current... uhh... hormonal insecurity))

Aika was cutting some vegetables for the soup but her mind was anywhere but in the kitchen.
Now that she knew for sure that she's pregnant there were so many things to consider... like making an appointment for her first check-up. And which room were they going to change into the nursery? And did she want to know the sex of the baby once that would be possible, or did she want to be surprised in the end? And she was thinking of names...
These and many others were going through her mind, which is not very smart when handling a sharp knife.
"Ouch!!" Aika called out as she pulled back her hand.

L had entered the kitchen in time to see Aika cut herself. He walked over and took her hand, inspecting it before leading her to the sink and turning on the cold water to rinse off her hand. "You should be more careful."

She shook her head with a sigh.
"I should know better... pay attention when handling a knife, that's the first thing I teach my students."
