L blinked up at the ceiling while crouching in his traditional position.

*I didn't think it possible to get bored....but there's nothing to do here.*

A soft knock could be heard on the door of L's room.
"L-sama, you've been locked up in here for so long... isn't there anything you want to do?" Minoushje asked once he told her she could come in.

L looked at her with tired eyes.

"I need to solve something. There is a 65% chance my brain will cease to function if I do not resume my normal activities."

A somewhat sad smile showed on Minoushje's face.
"Ah yes... once you have your mind set to something... Kira always comes first... as it was a year ago."

"He must be stopped," he said in a monotonous voice.

"But how do I do it now?"

"And how many more will die because of this... this... obsession!!" Minoushje snapped.

Apperently L can easily forget those who died while working on the Kira-case but Minoushje can't... especially not him. She'll never forget him.

L looked at her curiously.

"Obsession? Wanting to catch a mass-murderer and put his reign of false justice to an end is an obsession?"

Minoushje frowned and turned away from him, biting her lip.
With her hand she combed through her hair.
"You are safely hidden behind your identity... one look in the police records and everyone else..." She didn't finish her sentence as her lip started to tremble.

He didn't phrase it as a question, because he could tell simply by looking at her face.

Minoushje sat down on the edge of his bed, seeing as L had taken place in the only chair.
"...and even though I know I shouldn't... I can't help but blame you."
A single tear escaped from her eye and rolled down her cheek.

L was at a loss for what to say.

".....What was his name?"

Her intense emotions pointed to the fact that the one she had lost had been a lover of some sort.

"Ichiro..." Minoushje said while looking up at L. "...but I doubt you remember him." The last part had come out bitterly.

He shuffled over and looked at her intently.

Minoushje looked at her hands that were resting in her lap.
"I guess I can't blame you... I just wished that someone would acknowledge what he has done... that he didn't die for nothing."

For the tiniest fraction of a second, L felt a powerful rush of emotion towards this woman he barely knew.

He sat next to Mino on the bed.

"Tell me about him."

Minoushje looked up surprised, the tears still visible in her eyes.

"He had a strong sense of justice... joined the police forces after high school just like his father and grandfather... when you asked who wanted to assist in the Kira-case he didn't even hesitate. We actually had an argument about that..."

A small smile appeared on her face.

"...even though every member was sworn to secrecy and I still don't know anything I could just tell by looking at him when you had gotten closer to the answer... he'd... glow with happiness."

Talking about Ichiro like this brought back many memories but it still felt good. For some reason L was a guy she could easily talk to...

That same emotion filled him again.

"He sounds like someone whom I should remember.....Mino-san, if I do not catch Kira, than Ichiro's life will have ended in vain.....you must help me."

His voice and his eyes were strangely earnest.

It felt somewhat awkward saying his true name yet it felt right too.
She placed her hand on his... it was impossible to hold a grudge against this man, he was too honest for that.
"But how could I help you?"

He blushed ever so lightly. Physical contact was not something he relished, but he didn't seem to care right now.

"I'll think of something."

Minoushje took a deep breath after which she stood up, wiping the remaining tears from her eyes.
"Well... I... uhh... best start preparing dinner... I..." She turned her face away from him, hiding the faint pink blush dusting her cheeks.

It felt like her feelings were pulled in two different directions... on one side she couldn't deny that L was truly a nice guy, someone she knew she could feel safe with. But on the other side... Ichiro died only six months ago, allowing herself to open up to other guys felt like betraying him.

((no need to be jealous... Near is visiting L pretty soon))

He got up from the bed and rested his head against the wall.

"Why.....why do I feel so odd?"
