She fought a severe blush and took his hand fully.

"That means a lot to me," she said quietly.

Now was not the time that she had been a Wammy's child, like him. That could wait. It could wait.

Again it felt to him as if she got lost in her eyes. What was it about this girl that made her feel so familiar?
"Strange..." He muttered as he kept looking at her.

"But not for long...I entered the House when I was twelve and left two years later. And I didn't do anything spectacular....I was what they call a wallflower," she said with a bitter smile.

He had loved to listen to her when she read her favorite parts out loud.

The sudden hug caused Near to lose his balance and before he knew what was going on he was lying in the fountain with Zen half sitting, half lying on top of him.
He blushed brightly as he looked at Zen's appearance...

Her clothes were, quite inconviently, clinging to her and being a bit more revealing than she would like.

She blushed all over.

He swallowed as he tried to stop his eyes from trailing over her body.
However there was one thing he couldn't resist.
Slowly he leaned forward and softly pressed his lips against her, savoring her sweet flavor.

Zen's eyes widened a bit in surprise before her brain kicked back into gear and she kissed back, enjoying every second of it. Ignoring the fact that they were currently both sitting in a fountain, she wrapped her arms around him and drew him closer.

Air? What air? She didn't need air....

Near placed his hands on her hips, holding her as close as possible.
He stopped kissing her for just a few seconds to gain some much needed air but immediately after that he continued kissing her.

He had liked her when both of them still lived in Wammy's Orphanage but he never knew how to approach her. Now he had been given a second chance.

Just as his hands traveled up someone cleared his throat. When he looked behind Zen he noticed there was a police officer standing there, his arms crossed and his foot tapping impatiently.

Oops?

Zen heard the noise as well and reluctantly turned her head to see the man standing there.

She flushed a bit as she realized they probably had made quite a spectacle of themselves.

"Near," she whispered into his ear, "We should probably go."

Thank goodness she had a change of clothes....but Near, alas...

"Maybe we should..." He said as he stood up and held out his hand to help her up. "...now I really ran out of dry clothes to wear."
He looked around and noticed a small clothing store close by. Once both of them were out of the fountain he took the bag in one hand and took Zen's hand in his other.
"Come on, let's go." He replied smiling as he dragged Zen to the store.

The clerks were in the least surprised that two soaking wet teenagers ran into the store. It wasn't raining or anything... so how did this happen... did they even want to know?
"I need some new clothes..." Near said dryly.
