"I'm not," she said softly, "I'm just at a loss as to how to handle this. As much as I hate to admit it, I didn't prepare for this....for any of this," she added.

"You could not have expected this much problems." Near said seriously. "So it's no use worrying about it."

"They're not all problems," she said with a small smile.

She stood and gave him a hug and a kiss on the cheek.

"I didn't expect you," she said teasingly.

((Teh angst....it burns....))

Near smiled and pulled Zen on his lap.
"Well, that's something I didn't expect either... but it sure is the best thing that happened to me."

Zen blushed vividly before putting her arms around his next.

"You're too kind."

But her face was happy nonetheless.

"It's the truth..." Near whispered as he kissed her on her cheek.

She blushed harder and laid her head on his shoulder.

"So what do we do about him?"

Near let out a deep breath.
"For now I'm afraid there's little we can do... we don't have enough physical proof to arrest him. Just our gut feeling isn't enough. There's nothing that actually proofs he's Kira so all we can do is wait."

((I figured were talking about Light... and not about Matsuda seeing as he's a good guy >.>))

((Yup!))

She nodded, her eyes thoughtful.

"Then we'll just have to get some..."

"Ani... promise me you won't go looking for it yourself!!" Near said seriously, the worry sounding through his words.

"I can't just sit here and do nothing, Nate."

Near frowned.
"This is not negotiable, Ani. He already saw you once and that was once too many. How can I focus on catching Kira if I'm constantly worrying about you?"

"......"

She sighed softly.

"Alright...."

A small smile played on Near's lips.
"Thank you..." He said softly as he kissed her once more.

She kissed back warmly, but was still sad that she couldn't help with the investigation in any way that mattered.

We'll see, Nate...I have to help you...

A New Day

Minoushje walked in the office happily.
She walked towards L and kissed him.
"That's for allowing me to take that job." She said smiling. "It's so fun to teach... especially if it's something you love to do yourself."

L panda-smiled and kissed back gently.

"Just be careful, Aika...."

((I love compassionate!L even more than normal L. <3))

"You know I will..." Minoushje said with a smile. "...and besides Yagami Light isn't in my class and I haven't seen him at all, all day."

((*nods head* but he is always adorable)

L frowned slightly.

"That doesn't mean he hasn't seen you....the man is incredibly devious, Aika. Don't underestimate him."

Minoushje sighed.
"You're probably right... but I can't keep looking around to see he's around, that will definitely tell him I've got something, or rather someone to hide."

L nodded.

"I understand. But you will see him eventually- it'd be best to treat him as just another student."

"Don't worry, I'll be very careful." Aika said with a nod. "Now, I best start working on dinner... a man can't catch criminals on an empty stomach."

L's arms snaked around Aika's waist, pulling the woman close to him. "I think dinner can be a little delayed." A smile slid across his lips followed by tue pressing of said lips again Aika's own.

Aika squeaked lightly when L's arms suddenly wrapped around her waist. Though a smile appeared on her face when he started kissing her.
"I couldn't do that to the others..." She said in-between kisses. "...Though it's very tempting to stay here just a little longer."

"I'm sure they wouldn't mind a small delay," He said while capturing Aika's lips yet again.
